The Eezzy Group Foundation has thrown its weight behind preparations for Ghana’s 42nd National Farmers’ Day, presenting a brand-new Nissan pickup truck, 20 motorcycles and an agricultural tractor to the Ministry of Food and Agriculture to enhance this year’s awards scheme.
The pickup took pride of place at a colourful unveiling ceremony at the Ministry in Accra, mounted on a podium draped in the national colours ahead of the December festivities. This year’s celebration runs under the theme “Our Farmers, Our Food, Our Future” — a tribute to the farmers and fishers whose daily work feeds the nation — and the Foundation’s donation is aimed at making sure the best among them are rewarded in a manner worthy of that contribution.
National Farmers’ Day, observed every year on the first Friday of December, remains Ghana’s foremost celebration of its agricultural sector. Officials at the presentation praised the Foundation for its continued investment in national causes — from sports and community health to education — and expressed the hope that the gesture will inspire other corporate bodies to stand behind the country’s hardworking farmers.
